Chiropractor serving The Heights, Houston

Trusted chiropractic care for The Heights

About 7 miles (15-20 minutes) from our Galleria-area office

The Heights was platted in 1891 as Houston’s first planned suburb — a streetcar community northwest of downtown, on ground that qualified as high by coastal-plain standards. What survived is a walkable grid of bungalows, four city historic districts, the Heights Boulevard esplanade, and a commercial spine along 19th Street and White Oak.

Getting out to us is simple and avoids the middle of the city entirely: Yale Street or Heights Boulevard south to I-10, west to the I-610 West Loop, south to the Westheimer exit. About seven miles, usually fifteen to twenty minutes.

Two things generate most of what we see from this part of town. The first is how much people here actually move — the Hike and Bike Trail and the flat, connected street grid mean a lot of runners and cyclists, and with them a steady stream of overuse injuries, heel and arch pain, and sprains and strains. The second is the housing: hundred-year-old bungalows in more or less permanent renovation, which produces low-back pain from weekend projects, shoulder complaints from overhead work, and the occasional sciatica flare after a day of lifting.

Dr. Francis Ajayi examines before treating and explains what he finds. That might mean chiropractic adjustments, athlete care built around your training rather than against it, soft-tissue work such as dry needling or myofascial release, kinesio taping to get you through an event, and physiotherapy so the correction holds once you are back on the trail.

Why The Heights chooses Wellcare Chiropractic And Rehabilitation Clinic

The Heights was platted in 1891 as Houston's first planned suburb — a streetcar community on ground that counted as high by coastal-plain standards. What that history left behind is a walkable grid of bungalows, four historic districts, and one of the few places in Houston where people genuinely get around on foot and by bike. Getting to us is the easy part: Yale Street or Heights Boulevard down to I-10, west to the Loop, south to Westheimer. Seven miles, and you never cross the middle of the city.

Two things drive most of what we see from the Heights. The first is activity — the Hike and Bike Trail and the flat street grid mean a lot of runners and cyclists, and repetitive-load injuries follow. The second is the housing stock: century-old bungalows under constant renovation, and the weekend-project strains that come with them. Add the bar and restaurant staff working 19th Street and White Oak, and that is the caseload. Dr. Francis Ajayi examines first and sets a plan with a defined endpoint.

The Heights chiropractic FAQs

How far is your office from the Heights?+

About seven miles. Take Yale Street or Heights Boulevard south to I-10, head west, then the I-610 West Loop south to the Westheimer exit. Usually 15 to 20 minutes.

Do you see patients from the Heights?+

Yes — from Houston Heights itself and from Woodland Heights, Norhill, Sunset Heights and the Freeland area.

I run on the Heights trail and something is not right. What now?+

Come in before it becomes an injury you have to stop training for. Repetitive-load problems almost always show up as restriction and stiffness first, and that is the easiest stage to treat.

I hurt my back renovating. Should I wait to see if it settles?+

If it is easing day by day, waiting a few days is reasonable. If it is not improving, is radiating into a leg, or came with numbness or weakness, get it examined rather than waiting it out.

Do I need a referral to book?+

No referral is needed to schedule with us. Call or book online, and our front desk will help if your insurance plan has a referral requirement.

Where exactly is the office?+

2500 West Loop South, Suite 260, at the northwest corner of Westheimer and the I-610 West Loop, across from The Galleria. The building has on-site parking.
